Today we went for a little ride down to historic old Amherstburg and stopped a while in the Naval Yards Park beside the Detroit River. There was a sculpture there of 3 army rifles from the War of 1812. The artist had made a tripod of sorts from the 3 guns, and at the top, twisted the barrels together, and had roses growing from the top, reaching for the sky. When I tried to do something with the images afterward, they for some reason were not satisfying to me as straight photographs. After thinking about it for a while, I decided the sculpture would look best as a black and white image, and this is the end result which I find does it a little more justice than a straight photograph...if there is anyone out there who is still visiting this little blog of mine, I hope you enjoy it also.
