This old violin was my musical "muse" for quite a few years, and a couple of months ago, I opened the case to find that the bow had become detached at one end, and the bridge had collapsed. The rosin inside its little box, had crumbled into tiny amber nuggets. What a mess! Upon first glance, I guessed that it would take considerable repairs to get it back into decent condition again. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it could still be of use. I just had to accept it as it was, and add a few items to make a story of sorts. So the roses from a Mother's Day bouquet were saved from the garbage bucket, and allowed to dry out or "age gracefully." They lent a certain mood to the photo, and in a way sort of speaks to the demise of many things in life....music included. Hope you enjoy it a little.
