This highly polished "blast from the past" is a '54 Chevy Bel Air and was proudly on display yesterday on Wyandotte St. under the watchful eye of its proud owner. A lot of work and money goes into the restoration and upkeep of an oldie like this one. Good on you fella.

Yesterday was the 10th Anniversary of the 9-11 attacks in New York City, USA, and I watched an hour or so of the proceedings on television. It was heart wrenching to say the least. There were Canadians who lost their lives also, and I thought I would post this candid shot of these crew members of a couple of RCN frigates that tied up here in Windsor, Ont. last week. At first glance, I had to ask myself what this nice looking young lady was doing in this uniform. But if the truth be known, my guess is that you would not want to mess with her, or her companions. She is probably a very nice person to talk to, but tough as nails. The determination and resolve it must take to get to be where she is would likely be far above most of our imaginations. She and her fellow officers are on the front lines for us when extreme events occur. We should all be very proud of these extraordinary individuals who take it upon themselves to respond on behalf of us all.
