On a recent tour of the Willistead Manor in the old Walkerville section of Windsor, Ontario, this rather elegant bedside lamp figurine caught my eye. It sat beside the bed of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Chandler Walker. Hiram Walker was Edwards father, but he never lived there. This manor is very large and stately, and I was somewhat surprised to discover that it contained only one bedroom. It was built between 1904 and 1906, and upon the death of Edward Walker, his wife decided that she did not wish to occupy the residence alone, and gave the house and grounds to the town of Walkerville.
